There have been a couple of photos mistaking adult Fallow Deer (Dama dama) females for Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) young. I understand that in some languages the name for Roe Deer can be nearly synonimous with (any) Deer, but putting Fallow Deer photos under Capreolus Capreolus is wrong. This page is strictly for species Capreolus capreolus. Roe deer are smaller, have a lighter, more angular/bony build (their coat in winter makes them look significantly less angular) and no tail; adults do not have spots. Fallow deer adults DO have spots and a tail, also a well pronounced white underbelly and front of the neck. Roe deer have a "moustache", fallow deer do not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.62.75.87 (talk • contribs) 16:19, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
