Propose centralization

[edit]

Hi, maybe Commons is not the appropiate places to this artice, I propose [1]. In this case we can contains in one place all the articles about our Meta Project and the discussions related.--Gengiskanhg 20:48, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The template, the images and this description is a complement so leave them together. Beside it's a good explanation article to the Category:Standard chess tiles. --Klin 08:14, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

About crosses and dark points

[edit]

Lets define a standard, -if it doesn't exist-, to use the crosses and dots at chess diagrams. Are crosses for capture and dots for moves?--Gengiskanhg 20:48, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Just like in the FIDE Rules --Klin 08:14, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Arrows

[edit]

Unfortunaltely I miss arrows like this. Is it possible to create such arrows? -- Tsor 22:12, 19 August 2005 (UTC) (please talk to me here[reply]

There are no arrows on the page you linked. -- Jan, 24th July 2006
Well, you should look at the version of August 2005 [2]. Unfortunately you will not see arows even there because we have replaced the chess images by the stabdard diagram and then deleted the images. But if you use the ChessBase program you can insert arrows (amd other stuff) into an diagram. That is what I meant. -- Tsor 03:04, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

highlights

[edit]

Couldn't there be a way to highlight some fields? Especially: How to highlight a field with a piece on it? -- Jan, 23rd July 2006

SVG

[edit]

All the chess boards and pieces should be converted to SVG instead of png. 70.111.218.254 14:35, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mistakes in page.

[edit]

Hi, I don't know what was intended, before there was a mistake in the mark up with | <footer> }} preceded by |}} so this was incorrect. So I took that out, then realized the caption was intended but it talked about a "Queen's Gambit..." so I changed the text of that but the corresponding mark up has the Queen's gambit stuff, so what do you want?

Animated chess GIFs

[edit]

How do I make animated chess GIFs like in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortal_game

If someone tells me how, I'll go to about 6 more-famous games and put in the .gif file. The image is 939 kilobytes.

Thanks in advance, leave the answer below this sentence. 71.40.177.90 12:49, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Using Standard chess diagram in another language

[edit]

Hi I'm trying to use the standard board on Wicipedia Cymraeg on this page: http://cy.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwyddbwyll - can anyone give me some assistance as to the steps needed. I realise it's not just a matter of copying code, and I have uploaded the files. What do we need to do to make the site recognise ===Standard diagram=== {{Chess diagram|= etc

Any help would be very much appreciated.
