This template is a shortcut for producing columns using CSS. It generates the CSS for various browsers. Supported browsers are the current versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Edge. It should be inserted in the style attribute of a block-style element.

Usage

Columns are supported now by most versions of Gecko-based browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox) and WebKit-based browsers (such as Google Chrome and Safari, as well as Edge on Windows 10). All versions of Internet Explorer through to version 9 (for old Windows versions before Windows 10) and Opera through to version 11.0 do not support columns. See here for more information.

TemplateData

TemplateData is a way to store information about template parameters (the description of those and of the whole template) for both humans and machines. It is used by VisualEditor and possibly other tools like Upload Wizard.

Existing template documentation
At Wikimedia Commons, it is recommended to use {{TemplateBox}} with either ‎useTemplateData=1 or ‎useTemplateData=only on the ‎/doc subpage and transcluding it with {{Documentation}} into the template. ‎<nowiki>-tags can be wrapped around the arguments, if required, to avoid templates being expanded.

Newly created template documentation and imports
Another option, especially for imported templates, or for users with JSON experience, is placing raw ‎<templatedata>-tags into the Wikitext of the template, as described in various Wikipediae.
