The {{Created with Inkscape-extract}} redirect to {{Extracted with Inkscape}} should be shown as {{redirects|Created with Inkscape-extract}} or similar to explain X. While at it the dummy {{Created with Unknown SVG facility}} redirect to {{Created with Other tool}} could be also shown to explain why U and O both end up in Category:Created with Other tools, note plural "tools". –Be..anyone (talk) 10:58, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The “category” parameter

[edit]

This is a followup of template talk: Image generation #cat= a.k.a. c=.

First, the current description in /doc doesn’t state that the parameter acts in the “File:” space only. Although I do not deem it a graceful behaviour, it is the way how the parameter acts currently:

-->{{#ifeq: {{NAMESPACE}} | File | {{#if: {{{category|}}} | {{{category}}} | {{#if: {{{toolcat|}}} |<!--
-->[[Category:{{#ifeq:{{{err}}}|0|Valid SVG c|{{#switch:{{{w3c}}}|I=Invalid SVG c|N=PNG c|S=SVG c|V=Valid SVG c|C}}}}reated with {{{toolcat}}}<!--
-->{{{sub|}}}|{{#if:{{{err|}}}|{{#iferror:{{#ifexpr:{{{err|1}}}}}|2222|{{padleft:{{#expr:1000*{{#expr:1/{{{err|}}} round 3}}}}|4|0}}}}|{{#ifeq:{{{w3c}}}|I|3333}}}}{{#if:{{{key|}}}|{{{key}}}|{{PAGENAME}}}}]] }} }} }}

Second, isn’t the {{#if: {{{category|}}} | {{{category}}} |… }} code a useless use of {{#if? Why don’t say just {{{category|… }}}? Incnis Mrsi (talk) 06:06, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Topic variations" examples

[edit]

Sarang added a second table of examples which don't even (directly) call the documented templates. Based on the cryptic edit summary he used and his authorship of the template actually documented ({{Image generation}}), I interpret that as a subtle advertisement for Igen.

There may be some utility is showing topics, but does someone volunteer to convert that into direct calls of the documented templates? And if not, does anyone oppose simple removal? Chealer (talk) 15:48, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
