Ama Duncan also known as Ama Bentsi-Enchill Duncan is a results oriented Chartered Secretary/Corporate Secretary qualified in both the UK and Ghana, a combined Law/History degree holder and a Master’s degree holder in Oil and Gas who has undergone a Board Rreadiness training programme. She operates with a strong sense of urgency, has the ability to handle several projects simultaneously and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

She is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (I.C.S.A), which is the chartered membership and qualifying body for people working in governance, risk and compliance. ICSA is a professional body that certifies Company Secretaries/Corporate Secretaries through exams and post qualifications programmes and with over 120 years' experience, the institute develops the skills, knowledge and experience of governance professionals through qualifications, training, high-quality guidance and technical know-how. It is the only qualifying body for chartered secretaries, whose broad skillset includes law, governance and compliance, and who are fundamental to the smooth running of organizations. In UK listed companies, the Companies Act 2006 and the UK Corporate Governance Code recognize the role.

She received her Master’s in Administration in Oil and Gas from the University of Middlesex Business School, UK where the programme offers proven management training with a special focus on the Oil and Gas industry.

She has undergone a Board Readiness training programme in South Africa organized by the Board Room Africa (TBR Africa). TBR Africa promotes exceptional female talent to boards across the continent and intends to break down barriers by helping organizations realize the benefits of increased diversity on boards by accelerating the placement of female board directors and connect peer-endorsed, board-ready women with CEOs and Board Executives across Africa for access to board and investment committee service.

She has held several management positions in the financial and Oil and Gas sectors.

Ama currently lives in Ghana, is married and is a mother to two lovely daughters Ivie and Ayona.
