Doctor Free is the Wikimedia user name of Dr. Ronald Joe Record.
Dr. Record obtained a Ph.D. in Wikipedia:Mathematics from the Wikipedia:University of California at Santa Cruz in 1994. He was employed as the chief Wikipedia:open source Wikipedia:software architect at Wikipedia:The Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) from 1983 until 2009. Prior to that, he served as a Wikipedia:teaching assistant at UCSC and worked at Wikipedia:NASA Ames Research Center in the automated guidance and navigation laboratory.
