Senior Movement Advocacy Manager, Wikimedia Foundation

About me

I'm an Austrian-American living in London. I’m passionate about using digital technologies to help communities have their voices heard in policy arenas, and counteracting extractive technologies and practices, especially in the context of International Development. I've been a digital-rights activist, anti-surveillance and racist algorithm researcher with the ACLU, and a policy consultant on digital identity and emerging humanitarian technology programs at Oxford. Thanks to two years at LinkedIn, I can rock anyone's profile.

On the side I volunteer with groups that focus on youth empowerment through sports and relationship abuse education. I'm also a proud member of the Austrian National Team (Lacrosse) and just came off the 2022 World Cup.

My work

As the first ever person in this role, I lead the Foundation's collaborations with volunteers and affiliates around the world to co-design advocacy campaigns and skill-building programmes so that our movement can better protect and promote free knowledge online. To this end I work closely with communications, research, and grant initiatives. Grassroots energy is essential to the movement's policy initiatives, for those most directly impacted best understand their own local context and needs.
