Georges Daou is a musician, architect and multi-disciplinary artist based in Paris.

A guitarist and tape enthusiast since an early age, he started experimenting with tape loops, synths, and field recordings alongside his guitar and effect pedals. The result was immersive ambient soundscapes and deep drones, often colored with lofi textures and sound artifacts generated by acoustic instruments and objects.

Born in Beirut, Daou moved to New York City in 2014, where he mastered his guitar skills with Dom Minasi, and worked as an architect while developing his ongoing artistic projects.

He then moved to Paris in 2018, where he started working on his debut album Subliminal, which was released under the moniker Daou and was later selected on Beehype’s list of best albums of 2020.

Subliminal consists of carefully recorded tape loops on cassettes, mixed with field recordings, guitars and Ciat Lonbarde instruments.

The concept behind this album was questioning the notion of time and space, past and present, through inner and outer journeys.

A music video of the song Strong Desire was directed by Emilie Girault and premiered on Le bombardier.

Subliminal was duplicated on a limited edition cassettes.
