In memory of Fabio Mariano
[edit]From the 1st of September 2023, the Wiki Loves Monuments photo contest will start again, it is exciting to participate and make your shots available to others, getting involved.
But the most important thing is the chance to meet other photographers who share your passion for photography. On these occasions it is sometimes possible to understand how some people process it based on their experiences.
For those who do not know me, being passionate about architecture and history, my photos speak mainly of these topics. It was surprising to discover that I'm not alone.
During the Wiki_Loves_Marche_2022_award_ceremony, I had the honor of being awarded and meeting one of the winners, the architect Fabio Mariano, who unfortunately left us three months ago.
He loved writing books as much as taking pictures. On Commons, his WLM's photos (all strictly in black and white) remain as evidence of his passion for art and monuments, which I propose below:
-
URBISAGLIA - Rocca, vista laterale
-
Sassocovaro (PU), rocca ubaldinesca
-
San Leo (RN, già PU), Rocca
-
S.Ginesio (MC) - Pian di Pieca, Rocca di Colonnalta, edificata dai Brunforte su modello francese, XII-XIII sec
-
S.Agata Feltria (RN, già PU) - Rocca Fregoso, XIV-XV sec
-
Montefano (MC), Castello di Montefiore, 1429-86
-
Montefalcone Appennino (FM), il Castello, XIII secolo
-
Maiolo (RN, già PU) Quel che resta della Rocca di Maioletto, XV sec. e S.Leo sullo sfondo
-
Gradara (PU) - Rocca Malatestiana, XIV-XV sec., cinta muraria e camminamenti
-
Frontone (PU), Castello della Porta
-
Corinaldo (AN), cinta muraria e Torrione della Rotonda
-
Camerino (MC), Sfercia Rocca
-
Caldarola (MC), Castello Pallotta - panoramica
-
Ascoli Piceno, Fortezza Malatesta
-
Acquaviva Picena (AP), Rocca
-
Acquasanta (AP), Castel di Luco, castello-recinto di impianto medievale
-
Mondavio (PU), Rocca Roveresca, ingresso al Mastio
Good news these days about a photo of mine, taken in Leonardo's canal port in Cesenatico and [promoted as a Featured picture].
I willingly dedicate it to Fabio Mariano and to all architecture and photography enthusiasts like him.
