Jack's Magazine[edit]

Why were the move requests for File:Between banks - panoramio.jpg and File:Bluestone - panoramio.jpg declined? They are both photos of Jack's Magazine, and both currently have totally meaningless names. The Drover's Wife (talk) 13:49, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@The Drover's Wife: Correct, but the name that you suggest is still ambiguous, since it does not describe what is observed in the image. In the case of File:Earthing warning sign, Jack's Magazine.jpg, did provide a name, which (excuse the redundancy) explains what you see in the image that is why, I rejected the name change — Leitoxx Work • Talk • Mail 14:27, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What would you suggest? The first image is simply a view of the magazine from above (I'm not sure what else you'd call it), and the second is some sort of tunnel at the site which I wouldn't know how to label beyond stating where it is. In each case, stating where it is vastly more helpful to anyone than "between banks" or "bluestone". The Drover's Wife (talk) 14:34, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I altered the second image request to "Bluestone tunnel, Jack's Magazine", but as the first one is just a straightforward image of the entire building I'm not sure why there's a problem with calling it exactly what it is. Regarding the first image, I think it is quite appropriate that it is called Jack's Magazine since it cannot be specified in more detail about it. In turn, I apologize for that mistake on my part. Respecto al logo File:Buick.svg, le recomendaría que subiera una nueva versión, eliminando la marca registrada (R), porque de no ser así, sería de uso justo y se eliminaría. Logo Buick[edit]

@Mazbel: por favor necesito ayuda con el logo de Buick, no se si sea mi PC, pero cada que trato de subir un archivo .SVG no aparece, se queda en blanco, subí la versión sin la "R" y si ves en la página del logo un archivo está en blaco, por favor, no se si puedas arreglerlo

@Aurelio de Sandoval: debe ser un error al momento de cargar la imagen a Commons. Sin embargo, recreé la imagen, la convertí a SVG y subí la versión. @Aurelio de Sandoval: la plantilla {{Insignia}} por sí sola no indica el estado de copyright de la imagen, por lo cual, debe ser acompañado por otra plantilla. Ahora bien, para usar esa plantilla, debemos estar seguro si el país (Brasil, Perú , Colombia) atribuye usar escudos/emblemas originales y esa información se puede obtener. buscando las especificaciones de licencia de cada país. Odd use of suppressredirect[edit]

In this operation, you renamed File:New Zealand Road, Gabalfa - geograph.org.uk - 827096.jpg without leaving a redirect. I can't see how any of the criteria for suppressing a redirect could possibly apply, so I assume this was just a mistake and have created the missing redirect. I removed the redirect from the file as it represented another place and leaving it would just take the name for a future image load Now ok, the step is to leave your redirect and nominate it for SD But since the file is not in use, neither local / global, I agreed to move it without leaving a redirect. @Bjh21: Well, eventually: newly loaded images requesting a name change, images that have an bug, but only if it is not used globally -If used globally, the remaining redirect, ask to be deleted- or, for example, image names that it does not represent anything (for example: File: 0000s34ff.jpg) and that when making the name change, the probability of finding it with the first name is low or null. Specifically, a fixed criterion is 5, but to say with certainty of another criterion would be complex, since it depends a lot on the circumstances of the same file. Me alegra mucho que estés comenzando a editar en esta Wiki y tranquilo, todos empezamos sin conocer de mucho, pero con el tiempo vas logrando aprender las cosas y claro, si tienes alguna duda, puedes acudir a mi o a algún otro usuario. Respecto a su duda, no comprendo específicamente su pregunta.   • @Mazbel: disculpa por no haber respondido, miré tu mensaje sobre el estado de copyright de los escudos deportivos y encontré estas licencias, pero antes de subirlas, prefiero hablarlo con usted que tiene mas experiencia,.
  • {{PD-AR-Gov}} esta licencia de Argentina parece ser para escudos dd armas porque en una parte dice que "SON SÍMBOLOS USADOS POR LA NACIÓN ARGENTINA", y yo creo que el escudo dd la Selección de Argentina es un símbolo usado por la nación.
  • {{PD-BrazilGov}}el de Brasil según las licencias por territorio dice que esta licencia es para escudos de armas, no se si aplique para escudos de futbol.
  • El de Perú como es en logo simple, creo que debería de ir con la licencia Pd textologo.

@Aurelio de Sandoval: En esos casos, es más recomendable recrear el archivo en formato SVG y colocar como licencia {{PD-Textlogo}} acompañada con {{Insignia}}. En el caso de {{PD-AR-Gov}} el comunicado de "SON SÍMBOLOS USADOS POR LA NACIÓN ARGENTINA", y yo creo que el escudo dd la Selección de Argentina es un símbolo usado por la nación no se refiere específicamente al escudo de fútbol, sino más bien, a los escudos de municipios, partidos políticos, etc. Saludos ℳaʐbeʟ (✉︎) 20:24, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not move djvu and pdfs that are transcluded Wikisource works[edit]

Hi. Please reject renames of PDF and DJVU files transcluded at the Wikisources, such as File:UNTS 1.pdf to File:UN Treaty Series - vol 1.pdf It basically hides all the uses of the various pages of these files invisible, and makes things more awkward at the Wikisources. If you have a quick look at the file, you will see all the uses listed, and when it is moved all that data disappears as it is obscured by the redirect and its inability to show those links. If it is truly required to do the moves, then best to coordinate with an administrator at that Wikisource to work through the process. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:14, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
