Installation XP[edit]

Active Perl offers several package- not clear which to use- I chose the AS version, maybe MSI would have been better. After installation, I needed to cd C:/perl/bin before running test in stage 4. The rest of the process is long- but instructions clear. The instructions the demand I copy two files as .plx. When I run them, the instructions say I should call them .pl. The acid test was doing a run. To get it to work, I needed to type

  • C:/Perl/bin/Perl c:/Documents and Settings/Clem/Desktop/Uploads/cvs_creator.plx

I did and it told me that upload.cvs successfully created. I am impressed. I haven't tested further because I need to do some thinking about categories- and GoogleMaps GPS formats. I need to remember how to write DOS batch files to streamline it a bit- and there is a bit of real life that I must address.

Installation Linux^H^H^H^H^H Ubuntu[edit]

Linux install instructions are broken for Fedora or any RH/Fedora lineage system. Yum alternative commands should be given

libjpeg62 should be libjpeg-6b for Fedora
