Hi Petra. I notice you've been uploading a lot of photographs you take in PNG format. I'm curious why that is. Surely your digital camera produces JPG files? Are you aware that the PNG format is not designed for photographs, and the files end up being much larger?

Perhaps you're modifying your photos before uploading, and you are correctly worried about repeating a lossy compression. If that's the case, may I suggest that you first upload the unmodified photo, then upload the tweaked one (as a JPG) with the same name. See Image:Pretzel.jpg for an example where I did that.
