Headline text[edit]

@Jotzet: "Gávea" means "mast top". And no, there was nothing unintentional in my rollback of your vandalism. If you had a shred of respect for your fellow editors you’d ask first before removing the category. -- Tuválkin 21:02, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, you don't mind responding with unbiased courtesy. On the other hand you have no problem calling "your fellow editor" a disrespectful vandal at the occasion. I got it.
Your argumentation is brilliant btw and demands imitation - but perhaps you prefer to reverse yourself. incidentally it seems to be completely harmless here. --Jotzet (talk) 00:44, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • No reversal needed: A category about a "Foobar Street" needs to be categorized under a parent Category:Foobar or, if it exists, Category:Foobar_streets or Category:Streets_named_after_Foobar; additionally Category:Streets_named_after_foobars, if existing, is also valid categorization. This is how things are routinely done in Commons. You diffs about ham seem irrelevant here: A better example would be this being categorized thusly.
About vandal/vandalism, there’s a difference: A vandal engages in vandalism always, while one’s fellow editor (respected or not so) might lapse into occasional vandalism and later regret and correct it — or not.
