English: Soldiers with the 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, United States Division - Center shake hands with retired Spc. Steven Patterson, left, formerly with Troop A, 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division and an Oxford, Ala., native, June 30, 2011 at Camp Liberty, Iraq. Patterson, who has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, and several other Wounded Warriors returned to Iraq as part of the Troops First Foundation's Operation Proper Exit, which seeks to give closure to wounded veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. |
