English: Photograph of the Al-Khazneh that is one of the most elaborate temples in Petra, a city of the Nabataean Kingdom inhabited by the Arabs in ancient times. As with most of the other buildings in this ancient town, including the Monastery (Arabic Ad Deir), this structure was carved out of a sandstone rock face. #Nabataean Kingdom #Petra #Al-Khazneh

English: Petra, situated at the bottom of a hidden ravine, has known many civilizations, including the Nabataean and Roman and the majority of its monuments carved into the rock date from the period 100 B.C. to 100 AD. The site was abandoned at the end of the third century. The Khazne Faranoun, a monument carved in the rock. It is probably the temple-tomb of one of the last Nabateaen kings.
Français : Pétra, située au fond d'une vallée, connut plusieurs civilisations dont celles des Nabathéens et des Romains. La grande majorité des monuments taillés dans le roc date de la période qui s'étend de 100 avant J.C. à 100 après J.C. La ville fut abandonnée à la fin du IIème siècle de notre ère. Le Khazné Faranoun taillé dans le roc. C'est probablement le temple-tombeau d'un des derniers rois nabathéens.
