Description
English: Col. Laura Favand, right, lead medical trainer for the Department of Defense Ebola Treatment Training Team, discusses current training plans with Michael Lumpkin, assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low intensity conflict, during a visit to the National Police Training Academy in Paynesville, Liberia, Dec. 3, 2014. The assistant secretary of defense was touring facilities used for training health care workers, as well as Ebola treatment units built as part of Operation United Assistance. United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation to provide command and control, logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in West African nations.
