Title
Barbed and tanged arrowhead from Offa's Dyke Path on Hay Bluff (2p coin for scale). Copyright Mr Jim Saunders.
Description
English: A fine, bifacially worked barbed and tanged arrowhead in perfect condition. Found with the tip sticking out of a peat layer eroded by the Offa's Dyke Path. Light grey flint, with slight trace of white cortex on one face at the base of the central tang. Fresh, crisp condition without patination/weathering suggests burial until recent exposure. Findspot on ridge could imply possible association with unrecognised feature/context such as a cairn.

This image has currency in it to indicate scale.

Using coins for scale is discouraged as it will require people unfamiliar with them to look up the dimensions or guess, both of which defeat the purpose of the object in the first place. Coins can also reinforce a geographical bias, and some coins' designs are copyrighted.

Ideally, a photograph should include a ruler with the subject (example) or an added scale marking. SI ("metric") units are the most commonly used worldwide (see meter and centimeter).
