Description
English: U.S. Air Force Maj. Matthew Spears, left, the commander of Detachment 1, 52nd Operations Group; Capt. Austin Rust, top, with the 37th Airlift Squadron at Ramstein Air Base, Germany; and Polish Air Force Maj. Miroslaw Jakubowski, the deputy commander of the Polish C-130/M-28 Transport Squadron, discuss low-level airdrop landing zone procedures before a mission as part of exercise Screaming Eagle V March 4, 2013, at Powidz Air Base, Poland. Screaming Eagle is quarterly exercise designed to build partnership capacity between U.S. and Polish forces. In October 2012, the U.S. Air Force established the first permanent U.S. military presence in Poland. Together with a rotational deployment of U.S. military aircraft, the Air Force supported Poland's continued defense modernization and standardization with the U.S. and NATO.
