English: During Sunday's remembrance at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, which was attended by President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, the HARNG's 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery provided a 19-gun artillery salute as the hearse transporting the senator's casket entered the national cemetery. VIP escorts and cordon support were provided by soldiers and airmen from the Hawaii National Guard. The Guard's Public Affairs Office provided significant media liaison with the White House press corps and photographic support at the Punchbowl event.
