  • Significance: The five-bay, one and one-half story farmhouse is part of a larger complex, with outbuildings dating from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The house itself was expanded with an ell addition in the twentieth century. Outbuildings include the nineteenth-century barn as well as a raised corncrib, machine shop, schoolhouse, and various sheds.

Public domain
This work is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1963, and although there may or may not have been a copyright notice, the copyright was not renewed. For further explanation, see Commons:Hirtle chart and the copyright renewal logs. Note that it may still be copyrighted in jurisdictions that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works (depending on the date of the author's death), such as Canada (70 years p.m.a.), Mainland China (50 years p.m.a., not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany (70 years p.m.a.), Mexico (100 years p.m.a.), Switzerland (70 years p.m.a.), and other countries with individual treaties.

Public domain This image or media file contains material based on a work of a National Park Service employee, created as part of that person's official duties. As a work of the U.S. federal government, such work is in the public domain in the United States. See the NPS website and NPS copyright policy for more information.
It is disputed whether the copyright tag on this file is correct. In some cases this may be because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Reason: This photograph was made especially for the 1937 book of the private publisher [3]. Thus, although it was eventually collected in the collection of the LoC, it is unlikely to have been created by a government employee as part of his duties. The photograph may however be in the public domain if its copyright was not renewed.
