DescriptionNC National Guard Unit reveals new unit emblem design DVIDS911971.jpg |
English: A framed artist’s proof print is displayed during the North Carolina National Guard’s Detachment 1, B Company, 2-151st Aviation Regiment family day celebration at North Cary Park here, April 7. The print was designed by Travis Getz, owner of Squadron Store and donated by anonymous donor as a morale-building initiative for the unit. The design exemplifies the unit’s counter-drug and hurricane relief missions are referenced in the banner text which reads: “Evildoers & Citizens in Peril Be Advised… We’re Coming For You.” These themes are further symbolized by a dead snake and lightning bolt hidden in the owl’s wings. The owl is removing a snake from the flag, representing the Night Owls’ determination to counter threats to North Carolina citizens. This design highlights the unique missions flown by the aviators for their support of law enforcement and airborne search and rescue operations.
