English: Philippine and U.S. Airmen share Boodle, a Filipino-style lunch consisting of rice, fish and chicken, April 20, at the conclusion of a three-day bilateral basic lifesaving training. During Exercise Balikatan 2012, combined air crews, pararescuemen and medical technicians from the U.S. and Philippine Air Force shared medical knowledge including self-aid, buddy care, CPR techniques and mass casualty training. U.S. Airmen with backgrounds in life support, survival evasion resistance escape and combat rescue also shared their knowledge by briefing various aspects of their craft to Philippine service members. Balikatan is an annual Republic of the Philippines-U.S. exercise focusing on field training, humanitarian assistance and a command post exercise. The exercise increases our armed forces’ ability to respond quickly and work together efficiently to provide relief and assistance in the event of natural disasters and other crises. |
