Description
Deutsch: Kirche St. Franziskus mit Franziskussäule, Pfarrsaal und Antoniuskapelle in Neufahrn.
  • Die Statue des Kirchenpatrons auf der Säule (Vogelpredigt des hl. Franz von Assisi) schuf der Bildhauer Hans Vogl (um 1963). Im Kirchenführer-Heftchen wird sein Name mit „Hans Vogel“ angegeben, doch ist sicher Hans Vogl gemeint, wie der Vergleich mit der stilistisch sehr ähnlichen Sitzstatue des gleichen Heiligen am Franziskusbrunnen (1960) in München (Au) zeigt.
  • Das Mariahilfbild in der Kirche ist eine der vielen alten Kopien des heute im Dom von Innsbruck aufbewahrten Gnadenbilds, die dessen hohe Verehrung zeigen.
  • Der Pfarrsaal (Franziskussaal, Baubeginn 1957) war die erste Kirche an dieser Stelle, bevor der Bau der heutigen Kirche (Weihe 1963) beschlossen wurde. Über der alten Türe, die bei der Verlegung des Eingangs vermauert wurde, zeigt ein großes Wandbild eine Darstellung der tätigen Nächstenliebe, entsprechend dem in der Inschrift formulierten Gebot: „Ein Gebot ist dem ersten Gebot gleich: Liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst.“
    Es scheint sich nicht um eine Szene aus der Franziskuslegende zu handeln. Denn soweit zu erkennen, trägt die Hauptfigur einen langen Bart; das ist in der Ikonographie des hl. Franz von Assisi nicht üblich. Sie ist zudem nicht mit einem Nimbus als Heiliger gekennzeichnet. – Das Kirchenführer-Heftchen (3. Aufl. 2002) macht keine Angaben zu dem Bild und seinem Künstler.
  • Die kleine Antoniuskapelle vor der Fassade des Pfarrsaals ist ein Zeugnis des Widerstands gegen den Bau des Flughafens im Erdinger Moos. Sie wurde 1972 dort errichtet, war das Ziel von Wallfahrten und musste schließlich 1986 weichen. Seit 1988 steht sie nun an dieser Stelle.
