English: U.S. Army Spc. Jeremy Seamon, a water treatment specialist with Company A, 201st Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Task Force Duke, and a native of Hillsboro, Ill., tests a water sample at Forward Operating Base Andar, Nov. 1. Seamon is using a chlorimeter to measure the chlorine in the water. Chlorine is used to kill or neutralize harmful bacteria, and there are specified levels that must be maintained in the non-potable water at FOB Andar to ensure no personnel are endangered. |
