$1[edit]

{{Editprotected}} Change |protect| to |editprotected| since $1 is never protect --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 09:08, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also why do we have $1? Changing {{MediaWiki: to {{int: would solve the problem. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 11:07, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  1. ✓ Done -- Thank you.
  2. Wouldn't this trigger some kind of loop for users with en-gb user prefs as it is used on MediaWiki:Protectedpagetext/en-gb? -- Rillke(q?) 13:08, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    What kind of loop? --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 13:11, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Template editor[edit]

@1989:

I'm aware but it is impossible to test these without actually doing it unless I use the beta cluster which doesn't have the new right anyways. Our setup is a little lacking to be honest. At this point I'm wondering what harm might come with me just copying enwiki's over and adjusting the templates that are listed. --Majora (talk) 02:06, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to this space are also not instantaneous. They take time to propagate and display. Unless I'm actively breaking something please do not undo changes until I can at least confirm it isn't working. --Majora (talk) 02:10, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have purged as well to show the changes, and it still didn’t work. 1989 (talk) 02:14, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You sometimes have to clear your own browser's cookies. I've worked in this space before. It isn't like other spaces. In any case, this message has to be rewritten. It doesn't include the proper #switch parsers to encompass the expanded levels. As a side note, I did not know that you had already created Template:Protectedpagetext/PageTemplateProtected when I created Template:Protectedpagetext/TEProtected. Since we now have competing warnings, perhaps we can merge the two together? --Majora (talk) 02:18, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
How should they merge? 1989 (talk) 02:54, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
They say different things...

Do you not think anything on the other one is relevant? --Majora (talk) 03:03, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For mine, I think it is. I used Template:Protectedpagetext/PageProtected as reference. 1989 (talk) 03:20, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As did I but whatever. I made some minor tweaks and the protected message appears to be working now. --Majora (talk) 03:43, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Template transclusion support[edit]

{{Editprotected}}

Translations like MediaWiki:Protectedpagetext/en-gb use this MediaWiki message as a template, therefore it should support template parameters as well, not only MediaWiki message parameters. Please replace $1 with {{{1|$1}}} so that it uses the template parameter if it’s called as a template, and falls back to the MediaWiki message parameter otherwise. (MediaWiki message parameters are not expanded when it’s used as a template, i.e. $1 remains a literal $1.) —Tacsipacsi (talk) 13:59, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done, tested on File:Flag of France.svg (fully protected) and File:Buzz salutes the U.S. Flag.jpg (semi-protected) in en and en-gb. --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 17:21, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
