Disclaimer[edit]

Does anyone know why this template has a general disclaimer? --Denniss 19:37, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{editprotected}}. There is no need for a disclaimer. The source images (as a work of the federal government) are PD with no disclaimers, which means the images here can and should be too. See also Template_talk:PD-USGov-Military-Air_Force. --Denniss 15:22, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done "Subject to disclaimers" section removed. --GeorgHHtalk   11:56, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Language addition not showing up[edit]

{{Editprotected}} I recently added the Spanish language version of this template to Template:PD-USGov-Military-Army/lang. While that edit appears there, it does not seem to be getting included in this template. Could it be because it is protected? -- malo (talk) 13:24, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because it takes some time to purge HTML cache.  Not done but OK. Kwj2772 (msg) 14:32, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fr : lien "oeuvre"[edit]

Bonjour.

Le lien "oeuvre" est cassé. Il faut le remplacer par [1].

Merci.

Image vs. File[edit]

Why does this template specifically refer to "images"? Is there a similar template that is used for other files (audio recordings, for example)? If not, should this template (and others which similarly use the word "image") be changed to reflect that non-visual works may be covered by the US government's gracious dedication of its employee's works into the public domain?  Mysterymanblue  00:51, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request June 29, 2021[edit]

{{Edit request}} Please change the main body text of this template to the following (or something to this effect):

This file is a work of a U.S. Army soldier or employee, taken or made as part of that person's official duties. As a work of the U.S. federal government, it is is in the public domain in the United States.

Reasoning: This tag does not just apply to images, so it is necessary to change the word "image" to file. Also, the work is only public domain in the United States (see here: "The U.S. government may assert copyright outside of the United States for U.S. government works."), so it is necessary to add "in the United States" at the end of the template text.  Mysterymanblue  18:40, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
