Graphics abilities[edit]

  • General: prefers to do most basic editing in GraphicsMagic
  • JPEG: can handle Gimp on a fair level
(correcting whitebalance, skew, ...)
  • PNG: preaches to everyone within reach that JPEG is evil for computer screenshots.
  • MPO: can disassemble photos from stereoscopic digital cameras into left and right images.
  • GIF: knows that "gif" is not synonymous with "animation", and that it has rather limited colordepth.
  • Animations: can create, disassemble and edit *_a.gif as far as GraphicsMagic can handle it.
maybe some day will learn more about animated PNG and similar superior formats.
  • Charts: can use Gnuplot at a fair level. Can remote control Gnuplot from Python programs.
  • Vector graphics: creates and edits SVG and PDF graphics in a text editor. Hasn't tried Inkscape.
  • Stereoscopy: has a solid theoretical background, has taken a few hundred stereoscopic photos, has created stereoscopic screenshots from CAD environments, has created stereoscopic graph plots.

Contribute images[edit]

General
How to upload a file
  1. "Upload file" (menu on left, under "Participate")
  2. Paste the "Information" template from "Describing..." into "Summary" !
    1. "Description" can be multilingual: "{{en|1=Some description in English.}}"
    2. "Source" seems to mean the maker of the file, i.e. "{{Own}}"
    3. "Author" is "[[User:BjKa|Björn Karlson]]" and anyone else who needs to be attributed ?
    4. "Permission" leave blank !
    5. "Other_versions" is for derived images
  3. Licensing (i.e. "Attribution 3.0" ???)

Question[edit]

Why doesn't anyone use the "Discussion" page of images? I see so many images with quite a lot of issues to discuss!
