Hello, and welcome to Wikimedia Commons. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Commons to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is Logging in does not require any personal details, and there are many other benefits for logging in.

When you edit pages:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any galleries, such as copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such content or editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism.

Also feel free to ask a question on my Talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to the Commons.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 06:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Brian, today I read about the problems with images. I'm the author/photographer of the image "Metal movable type.jpg" on "moveable type" etc. I was very pleased when I noticed my image at wikipedia. Certainly I would like to give wikipedia/wikimedia the permission to keep the image. What can I do? Willi The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs) at 22:14, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Copied from this edit.

This image is used on 94 pages in 28 projects. I suggest that you send your permission to OTRS, register as a Commons user, and then change the licensing for that picture to either {{PD-user|username}} (if you want to release all your rights) or a combination of {{GFDL-user}} and {{cc-by-sa-2.0-uk}} (if you still want Attribution and Share Alike rights), add actual source information, and remove the {{Copyrighted free use}} template and all references to sxc in the process.

If you want further help with sorting out your image (from, feel free to e-mail me. Basically, I'd need to know which image you're talking about and then e-mail you on to see you're the author of that pic. Yonatan talk 22:17, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Information.svg Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Button sig.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment.
