Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Drone photos of Penang Mutiara Beach Resort and Gurney Bay

Hi HundenvonPenang,

Thanks for your superb drone photos of Penang.

If you happen to be in the area, would you be able to get good shots of

1. The abandoned en:Penang Mutiara Beach Resort (no free photos available), and
2. en:Gurney Bay (photo from 2023 before its opening doesn't show much detail of the park)?

Thanks Cmglee! Yes I happen to live in the area. Coincidentally I had also captured both places by drone (your text came at just the right time ).

1. I didn't actually take en:Penang Mutiara Beach Resort per se (I was taking the Teluk Bahang coastline), but here is a somewhat decent crop: File:Mutiara Beach Resort Penang.jpg. Hope this helps.

2. Here is the latest photo of Gurney Bay (taken yesterday): File:Gurney Bay, George Town, Penang 2024.jpg.

Thank you very much. Hope you won't mind that I losslessly cropped, brightened and reduced the colour cast of the former and added it to en:Penang Mutiara Beach Resort.

Sorry for suddenly jumping and interrupting the conversation between the two of you. I just happened to see your Gurney Bay drone picture update (Well, Actually, I still have some field photos that I haven’t uploaded yet for the park. Meanwhile, I may have a small request here, that is, you may also consider to shoot some drone pics in Seberang Perai. Although I spend most of my time studying in Kuala Lumpur, it would be a pleasure if I have a chance to also meet you all as one of the outstanding Penang Wiki contributers. *angys* (talk) 22:28, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

On this, in fact, I did recently as part of the complete rewrite for en:Seberang Perai (eg. infobox). I've nominated it for GA as well so feel free to check it out.

Already there was feedback that the en:Penang article is too cluttered with photos, so ideally any photos in GA/FA should be based on the content that is actually presented in the article. HundenvonPenang (talk) 02:36, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

Yeah actually we have a wikipedian user community group, and so far at that time I haven't received any invitation from their WhatsApp group. However, I think I am also not able to attend at that time I was preparing for examination. Nevertheless, we can have a know::::::ledge sharing on Wikimedia Commons image and have some chit chat? With foods. Photowalk also okay for me to see how you all manage to capture quality images. I also wsish to have a great opportunity to see how drone works if possible:) thank you so much. That'd be great! Probably an impromptu meetup at some cafe or a photowalk (I personally went on one last night). Saturday is fine with me (morning or afternoon, especially). Regardless, I'm available from around 6 p.m. on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. KOMTAR area works for me too.

I thought of not involving the others for now as organisation becomes more complicated with a larger group. We can consider a proper meetup in the future.

6pm Sat is okay too. I'm thinking either Macallum Connoisseurs, COEX @ Kilang Besi or (the most convenient & air-conditioned of all) 1st Avenue itself . What do you think?

Ps. Coincidentally it's Lantern Festival that evening. Expect Esplanade to be packed, but it may also be perfect should you wish to take photos of oranges being thrown into the sea. HundenvonPenang (talk) 15:34, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
