Description	Fractional Currency was introduced by the United States Federal Government following the Civil War. These notes were in use between 21 August 1862 and 15 February 1876, and could be redeemed by the U.S. Postal Service for the face value in postage stamps. Fractional notes were issued in 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, and 50 cent denominations across five issuing periods. First Issue (21-Aug-1862 to 27-May-1863) Second Issue (10-Dec-1863 to 23-Feb-1867) Third Issue (5-Dec-1864 to 16-Aug-1869) Fourth Issue (14-Jul-1869 to 16-Feb-1875) Fifth Issue (26-Feb-1874 to 15-Feb-1876) These 24 images represent a complete type (i.e., design) set of United States Fractional Currency. While there are many additional varieties of some of these notes, all denominations for each issue (with any major variation in design) is represented. All notes are from the National Numismatic Collection at the Smithsonian Institution.

The status of sets is disputed for the moment, and one single picture (maybe with small captions included) should be visually more spectacular, IMO.
