English: An account of an embassy to the kingdom of Ava was compiled by the British Lt.-Col. Michael Symes in 1795. The numerous drawings were done by the Indian Singey Bey. It was published November 1, 1799 by G. Nicol. Pall Mall & J. Wright in London and again with some additions 1827. It offered insights into Burma, the inhabitants, customs, etc. as observed by the British in the late 18th century.
