English: Ever since the Arabic Alf laylah wa-laylah (One Thousand and One Nights) have been translated into European languages, starting at the beginning of the 18th century, the stories have inspired writers, painters, illustrators, fashion designers, filmmakers, theater producers and the like. Best known as stories of the Arabian Nights, they feature in paintings, plays, songs, movies, computergames, theme parks, ballets and more untill this day.
