Archduke Maximilian Franz of Austria (1756-1801) was the 16th and the last child of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria and her husband, Franz Stephan. He was a brother of Holy Roman Emperors Joseph II and Leopold II as well as of Queen Marie Antoinette of France. In 1780, he became Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights, and in 1784, Archbishop-Elector of Cologne. In 1794, his domains were overrun by the troops of Revolutionary France. He died in Vienna, Austria.
