Deutsch: Castra Exploratorum war ein römisches Hilfstruppenkastell auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde (Parish) Arthuret, Carlisle district, Ortsteil Netherby, County Cumbria, England. Im 1. späten Jahrhundert n.Chr. gegründet, im 2. Jahrhundert in Stein erneuert, diente es ab dem 3. Jahrhundert zur Vorfeldsicherung des Hadrianswalls. Reste des Kastells oder seiner Zivilsiedlung sind keine mehr sichtbar, das sie heute komplett vom Haupthaus und der Gärten von Netherby Hall überdeckt sind. Es war wahrscheinlich bis ins 3. Jahrhundert n. Chr. mit römischen Soldaten besetzt. Die Existenz des Kastells ist durch frühere Beschreibungen seiner Reste durch Gelehrte im 16. Jahrhundert und aus zahlreichen römischen Inschriften bekannt. Vermutlich bestand hier auch ein größeres Lagerdorf und ein kleiner Hafen am Ufer des Esk. Netherby Hall beherbergt heute eine reichhaltige Sammlung von römischen Artefakten die in seiner Nähe gefunden wurden.

English: Site of an outpost fort of Hadrian's Wall and 16 km far from Carlisle, perhaps also a port on the river Esk. The name castra exploratorum appears in the Antonine Itinerary; the original place name is unknown. The site lies under Netherby House today. A fort was built here under Hadrian, but nothing is known of its size. In the 3th century it was garrisoned by Cohors I Aelia Hispanorum (apparently assigned to Uxellodunum in the Notitia Dignitatum), and presumably also by a unit of scouts. An external bath house was discovered in 1732, but nothing is now visible. Finds take the occupation down to the mid 3th century, but lack of excavation makes it uncertain how long it lasted after that.
