This is known as the Transfiguration window, by Heaton, Butler and Bayne, 1874. It cost £1,000, paid for by Mrs Walker. The style was influenced by Rubens' picture on the same subject. In the foreground are the recumbent figures of apostles Peter, James and John, and the main picture is of Jesus, Moses and Elias. The masonry of the window had to be rebuilt to the design of the architect Samuel Rollinson, and was executed by the mason Marriott of Staveley.
