English: In Finland, children dress up as witches on Palm Sunday or Holy Saturday. They carry decorated willow branches and visit their neighbors. The neighbor gets a blessing and the willow branch and gives some candy to the witch. In Sweden, the little witches visit their neighbors on the Thursday before Easter. Instead if decorated branches, they often hand out hand-drawn pictures with Easter greetings, eggs, bunnies or chicken and get some candy in return. Many municipalities in Sweden organize parades of Easter witches through the town center, and some towns compete in having the parade with most participants.
Suomi: Suomessa lapset pukeutuvat palmusunnuntaina pääsiäisnoidiksi ja kiertelevät naapurustossa virpomassa. Naapuri virvotaan oksalla ja lapsi saa karkkia palkaksi. Nykyisessä virpomisessa on sekoittuneena itäistä ja läntistä perinnettä. Ruotsissa pikkunoidat kiertelevät karkkia saamassa tuhkatorstaina.
