Elliott Means was an American sculptor, painter and illustrator born March 10, 1904, in Stamford, Texas. He studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts school. He created wall relief sculpture for the Government Printing Building in Washington, D.C.; for Welfare Island (Roosevelt Island), New York; and for United States post offices in Suffern, New York, and Dexter, Maine. He exhibited paintings in the 1930s and 1940s, and illustrated books and magazines. He lived in New York City. (Who's Who in American Art, 1959)
