Friedrichstraßenpassage was one of the first and largest shopping malls built in Berlin from 1907–1908, opened in 1909, connecting Friedrichstraße and Oranienburger Straße. From 1928 it was used as Haus der Technik by AEG. The buildings were partly demolished in the 1980s. The remains and wasteland were used by the Kunsthaus Tacheles art collective from 1990–2012.
