English: Governors Island National Monument was designated in 2001 to preserve Castle Williams, Fort Jay, and four adjacent buildings on Governors Island: 107 (NPS administrative offices), 140 (NPS entrance station and gift shop), 251 (base library) and 513 (base barracks). Pier (or dock) 102 is also part of the monument. All other areas and buildings on the island are not within the national monument – see Governors Island.jpg, NPS map, and NPS report (pages 175-182 of PDF) for details.
