English: The Grant Cottage on Mount McGregor near Saratoga Springs, New York, is where U.S. General and former President Ulysses S. Grant spent his last five weeks of mortal existence. He moved there on 16 June 1885. The owner of the cottage was Joseph W. Drexel. He offered it as a gift to the U.S. government, but it was not accepted, though Drexel continued to maintain the cottage and its contents in the condition they were in at the time of Grant's death.
