English: Kingscote is an historic mansion at 253 Bellevue Avenue at the corner of Bowery Street in Newport, Rhode Island. It was built in 1839 and was designed by Richard Upjohn in the Victorian Gothic Revival style as a summer residence for George Noble Jones of Atlanta, one of the first "cottages" in Newport. The house was later remodeled by George Champlin Mason and enlarged for David King in 1880-81 by Stanford White of McKim, Mead & White. It was owned by the King family from 1864 until 1972. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1996. It is located in the Bellevue Avenue Historic District.
