English: The Knights' War, also known as the Imperial Knights' Revolt, (27 August 1522 – 6 May 1523) was a failed attempt by the Brotherly Convention (of knights) led by the Evangelical knight Franz von Sickingen to forcibly remove Richard, Prince-Bishop of Trier andsecularize his lands. The private feud resulted in the death of Sickingen and likely inspired the German Peasants' War of 1524–1526.
Deutsch: Der Ritterkrieg, auch bekannt als Reichsritteraufstand (27. August 1522 – 6.
