Category:Pipe organ of Église Saint-Martin d'Ammerschwihr
All that remains of the former organ of Louis Dubois from 1762 is the case made with the assistance of Martin Bergaentzel, then a carpenter in Dubois's workshop ; and even the main body only has its facade and the dorsal positive is only decorative. The instrument was replaced by Martin & Joseph Rinckenbach in 1912 (44 stops on 3 keyboards & pedalboard), completed in 1935 by Jean Lapresté (buyer of the Rinckenbach house in Ammerschwihr before its final closure), modified in 1947 by Max Roethinger (electric console), relieved in two stages (1977 & 1980) by the brothers Laurent and Chrétien Steinmetz ; new relieving by the Muhleisen manufacture in 2015. Thus this organ is a summary of the history of the Organ Factory of Ammerschwihr from Louis Dubois to Jean Lapresté, including the most famous Rinckenbach.
This object is classé Monument Historique in the base Palissy, database of the French furniture patrimony of the French ministry of culture, under the references PM68000872, IM68007082 and buffet PM68000605 buffet.
