English: Saint Francis Church at Friar Street in Carrickbeg (now belonging to Carrick-on-Suir) was built in 1822, extended in 1839–49, and as Franciscan church in use until 2006. There are plans to use the church as heritage centre and museum for Carrick-on-Suir. See Patrick Conlan, Franciscan Ireland, p. 111, and this report about a new beginning. The church has a cruciform plan and is oriented from north to south with transepts on its eastern and western side and a tower behind the main altar on the southern side.
