National Express franchise 1997–2004
ScotRail was the sole operator of domestic passenger train services in Scotland, and the London to Scotland Caledonian Sleeper services, from privatisation in the mid 1990s until the franchise was taken over by First ScotRail in 2004, which was taken over by Abellio ScotRail in 2015.
The British Rail Scottish Region were the first user of the name Scotrail from the mid 1980's.
