Home of the oldest Jewish congregation in Los Angeles, known as Congregation B'nai B'rith from 1862 to 1933.
The 1929 Romanesque Revival style synagogue, with a large Byzantine Revival dome, is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and on the National Register of Historic Places in Los Angeles.
