Well, it is quite unlikely that an album of this time contains photographs of only one photographer. --Catfisheye (talk) 00:05, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, supposed this album is corresponding to Farsari works, supposed that the notes on this page are authentic
A madame ???(name)
Souvenirs de bonne amitié
???(place) 16 septembre 1886,
?????(name)
Souvenir de mademoiselle Ursule Wetzel
Carqueiranne, 19??
Reinette Nantas Tennevin
A Pierre, affectueusement, Maman, Strasbourg, 9 juillet 1969.
I don't know who were the first unreadable names, my father would probably know, (he's the one referred as Pierre, and Reinette Nantas Tennevin is his mother here). Basically the album was transmisted in my familly on various occasions, each of the previous owner adding a note when probably giving it away. The 'unknown dates' were probably added in 1969.
I don't know if this is really a farsari album, but it corresponds the period he was active and this corresponds to his style, now I ain't a Farsari specialist. The Category is just here to remind that the photographs were taken from the same album.

Oh, sorry, if this was harsh. Congratulations to your family to possess something beautiful like this. Do you know this book? I am reading about this kind of albums and normally they contain photographs by various artists. Plus that a lot of the photographers at this time - although there was a strict copyright law - had in their catalogues photographs taken by others. In the case of Farsari it is most likely artwork made by Raimund von Stillfried, with whom Farsari shared the adress. It is very hard to know who took which picture. So it is fine that you have put it in this category. I just wanted to note to be careful and not to take it for granted that all of these photographs are taken by Farsari. Knowing that you own this album I will leave whenever I find extra information a note at the picture's talk, okay? With best regards --Catfisheye (talk) 22:00, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Does this album contain this photograph twice? --Catfisheye (talk) 22:12, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't own the album technically speaking. I'll check it again when I'll have the occasion. Maybe I did an error during the shoot. Thanks for the remark Esby (talk) 04:59, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Note: IIRC, if these photographs are taken by the Farsari Studio, they could be quite rare because in 1886 his studio was destroyed by fire and it took about ten months to photograph all these motifs again. So thank you for sharing! --Catfisheye (talk) 12:33, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
