This man is not Battista da Vercelli[edit]

The medal coined for Battista da Vercelli can be seen in Capparoni, p. 21 and Ferrajoli, p. 204 LTB (talk) 11:00, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but could be this also, as it has the branch of quercux ilex --Sailko (talk) 13:09, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I do not understand the relationship between Battista da Vercelli and the branch of quercus. The medal in Ferrajoli and Capparoni has not a branch, but the legend around says clearly "Battista Vercellensis". This one says "Battista Ro", what does not match with Vercelli.--LTB (talk) 17:25, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
He was also called "della Rovere" (rovere is quercux in old italian), you can read its bio here --Sailko (talk) 17:55, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know the article in the DBI, I have used the book of Capparoni for the spanish wiki es:Giovanni Battista da Vercelli, and he talks about one medal (not two). And the page of Robert Lehman Collection, where the image comes from, says "Battista Vigo da Rapallo or Baptista Romanus" . It is also to be noted that "Ro" could not stand for "Rovere", as the legend is latin and so it must be "Ru" (from "Ruvere"), look at this one: [1]--LTB (talk) 16:41, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
