Rename to "Protests against nuclear energy"

Hello,

I am not sure that the name of the category is suited for its content. Obviously some of these protests concern primarly nuclear power, but several images concern a more general scope: for example, protests about World Health Organisation concern any victim of nuclear energy, including victims of radiation from Hiroshima bombing, depleted uranium, nuclear power reactors, uranium mining, etc. --User:Yann (talk) 20:35, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is already Category:Protests against nuclear weapons, but indeed, we have to find a more global and top category name for all nuclear "stuff", including nuclear food irradiation, health treatment, experiments, weapons, submarines, bombs, waste, transport, ... But my impression is that this category was focused on nuclear power generation which is fine. As usually, the conflict is generated by a lack of documentation and scope definition. --Foroa (talk) 05:53, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Yann - I get your point, but rather that renaming it back and returning the subcategories that DO only represent protests against nuclear power into it, what do you feel Foroa's comment/mine idea of a Category:Demonstrations and protests against nuclear technology - becoming the parent category of both Category:Protests against nuclear weapons and Category:Protests against nuclear power? That way, those files and subcategories that CAN be identified as protests against nuclear weapons or power only can be correctly sorted, and those that are "generally anti-nuclear" can be left in this new parent category.
Oh, and as per my above proposal, I suggest calling it "against nuclear technology", rather than "against nuclear energy", because it is broader (fits weapons, facilities etc..., whereas "nuclear energy" doesn't quite do so that well) - and also because there is no parent cat Category:Nuclear energy, but there is a Category:Nuclear technology.
Does that sound a reasonable compromise? I would have created it all right now, except that Yann has already placed a rename request, and I don't simply want to remove that on my own. Ingolfson (talk) 08:10, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
