Category:Muslim holidays is both a subcat and a parent cat of Category:Muslim festivals. This is another indication and result of "excess in categorization of anything related to Islam" which is the reason of my permanent complaints. Dear Muslims, Dear Islamophobes, please stop trying to "invent" ways of how to give more visibility to Islam. Just treat it as any other religion. How can you open a "festival cat" for the birthday of Muhammad? That's a religious observance day, not a festival. People do not dance but pray. Therefore it is a "holiday". OTOH, if there is a festival in a Moslem country, that does not mean it is a "muslim festival", it is just a "festival". Just like football in a Moslem country is "football" not "Muslim football". Please merge these and keep away from overcategorization. Please. Josh? E4024 (talk) 03:20, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@E4024: Muslim holidays should be limited to those days set aside within the Muslim faith, specifically as set forth by the religion, not just any holiday in a Muslim-majority country. Festivals are separate from holidays (though they may often overlap or occur simultaneously) in that a festival is defined by the themed activity and a holiday is defined by the calendar. Thus Category:Muslim holidays should not be a category of nor parent of Category:Muslim festivals. Josh (talk) 20:10, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
